Le Glacier du Petit Jardin

An ice cream shop like no other

Portrait de clément Gueudré du Petit Jardin à Montpellier

"You don't come here just for an ice cream, but to experience a story."

Clément Gueudré

In line with the Groupe Petit Jardin, Le Glacier du Petit Jardin was born from Clément Gueudré’s desire to create an authentic, refined place steeped in history, while preserving the spirit of conviviality that defines his establishments.

Located in the heart of the Écusson, this ice cream shop offers more than just frozen treats: it invites you to a moment of calm and freshness, sheltered from the bustle of the city.

With its seasonal flavors, ever-evolving menu, and nods to traditional recipes, each visit becomes a timeless moment.

Une ambiance feutrée et chaleureuse

Designed as a cozy haven, Le Glacier du Petit Jardin nurtures an intimate atmosphere.
The space is perfect for quiet conversations or sweet solo breaks.
The elegant furniture, noble materials, and discreet service evoke family homes, where you instantly feel welcomed.

A place steeped in history

Few people know it, but the ice cream shop is built on a site with a unique history: in 1369, it housed a small refectory for about ten monks and students, within an old college founded by the brothers of Pope Urban V.

The establishment welcomed students who came to study grammar and rhetoric, in a spirit of learning and sharing.

Although the building was destroyed in 1562, its stones were reused to build the citadel and the fortifications of Montpellier in 1622.
Even today, the spirit of transmission and tranquility lives on in this place.

"The stones have a memory. And here, they tell the story of knowledge, of sharing...
and now, of gourmet pleasure."

An address with flavor...
and meaning

Through Le Glacier du Petit Jardin, Clément Gueudré continues his vision of a local gastronomy, attentive to quality, seasonality, and local roots.
The place embraces a respectful approach, both in the choice of ingredients and in its connection to the local area.
By bringing this historic place back to life through the lens of indulgence, Le Glacier du Petit Jardin becomes much more than an ice cream shop: it is a complete experience, a bridge between past and present, between flavor and emotion.

Genuine and seasonal flavors

At Le Glacier du Petit Jardin, each flavor is an invitation to rediscover the true taste of things.

Crafted from fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, our ice creams and sorbets are made with the same high standards we apply to the desserts in our fine dining restaurant.

These are the same creations our chefs work on in the kitchen, with the intention of bringing out the purity of a fruit, the roundness of a vanilla, or the freshness of an aromatic herb.

No excess, no artifice: just flavor, the real thing, served with simplicity and elegance.

"The best recipe is the one that lets the ingredient speak for itself."
